Move Over Guys: Women Want Sports Jerseys Too
For generations, there's been a perception that men have an exclusive franchise on sports fandom. We see advertising images of guys sitting at home in front of their television sets, rooting on their favorite teams, or sitting in sports bars with their eyes trained on TV sets over the bar. Sports commentators are almost exclusively men, and the first woman reporter who did an interview in a locker room caused a huge controversy. Well, times have changed. Women are sports fans, too, and female sports fans are just as enthusiastic about their favorite NFL, MLB, NHL, and NBA teams as guys. Like men, women want to express their enthusiasm by wearing sports jerseys adorned with the numbers and names of their favorite players. Historically, though, women who wanted jerseys have been forced to settle for oversize men's sizes and cuts. The result? A far cry from a fashion statement. Luckily for female fans, NFL, MLB, NHL, and NBA teams have begun to sit up and take notice, recognizing that women constitute a good portion of their fan bases. They've also discovered that women are longing for jerseys that reflect women's enthusiasm for sports, but that also have a feminine twist. Increasingly, female sports fans are finding that there are a number of jerseys created specifically with women in mind. Today, a woman can find a pink jersey, a vibrant jersey, a fashion jersey, or a glitter jersey from virtually any team in the NFL, MLB, NHL, and NBA. Breaking out from the pack in women's sports apparel is actress Alyssa Milano, known for her role in the WB's "Charmed" and for her love of baseball. Not only does Alyssa Milano have season tickets to the Los Angeles Dodgers, but she also has her own MLB blog. Moreover, she's gone to the next level and has designed a line of women's MLB apparel. Called "touch," her line features fan wear that exudes femininity. For example, the "touch" women's criss-cross white tank top features a shelf bra with a screened logo in the center of the chest area. The scoop back features criss-cross spaghetti straps that give the top its feminine appeal. Her baseball jerseys are tradition with a twist: the white body and colored 3/4-length sleeves may be old school, but the rouching detail at the hem on the side seam is purely modern. Alyssa Milano's spaghetti top features tie strings at the shoulders, while her short-sleeved hoodie features a zipper, contrast stitching, and the team logo near the bottom left hemline. Other jerseys accent short sleeves with glitter stripes. There's no doubt that women's fashion sense is making a splash in the sports world. Replica storm jerseys, fashion jerseys, pink ribbon jerseys, and glitter jerseys are giving female fans one more thing to cheer about!

Exercise During Pregnancy - The Good, The Bad And The Ugly
Are you pregnant? Has your doctor told you to get moving in some way, to do some sort of exercise? (By the way, ALWAYS check with a doctor before beginning an exercise program.) Exercise can either be your best friend or your worst enemy. Here is some food for thought if you are struggling with starting an exercise program during your pregnancy. ==> The Good. You need to exercise during pregnancy. You need to gently stretch and stay as flexible as possible. This can make a huge difference in the quality of your delivery and recovery. I know. I've had four full time pregnancies and I've experienced firsthand the difference staying flexible can make. Exercise also keeps your body working at a higher efficiency rate which will help you sleep better and improve your digestion, two things not to be taken lightly during pregnancy. The difference exercise during pregnancy can make for your post-partum recovery is amazing. Again, I can tell you from firsthand experience, that a comfortable and reasonable fitness routine (simple walking is terrific) can help your body 'snap back' like nothing else. Physical exercise has been shown to improve moods. Girlfriend, we know how to have moods when we're pregnant, don't we? Enough said. And don't forget this vital point. A healthier mom means a healthier baby. How can you argue with that? ==> The Bad. Exercise performed during pregnancy is different than exercise at other times. You've got to be extra-sensitive to your body needs. You've got to go slower and be willing to stop sooner. You must be willing to be flexible in your choice of exercise, too. If you like to run, you probably won't be able to keep that up your entire pregnancy. Of course, that choice will be between you and your doctor. Still, all those points have a silver lining. A great exercise for pregnancy is swimming. And hey, no one cares what you look like in a bathing suit! In fact, being pregnant is a wonderful time to celebrate the beauty of your body. Take advantage, buy a cute suit, and head for the water. An additional safety point to consider when you exercise is not to overheat. I've experienced this, as well, and it is not fun. I was only fourteen weeks pregnant, but the weather was hot and humid. I was playing horseshoes (hardly an aerobic sport), but after a short time I was feeling terrible. The people around me were commenting on how flushed I looked. When I went inside it took a very long time for me to cool down, much longer than normal. So be careful. Exercise during pregnancy is meant to benefit you and your baby, but that means it needs to be moderate and regulated. Save the Olympics for later. ==> The Ugly. You're pregnant. You feel sick. You're tired. Exercise?? Are you crazy? It's true. Even the most die-hard fitness gal often finds motivation for exercise during her pregnancy much more difficult. So if you are not a regular exerciser, you're wondering how you can possibly pull this off. Even if you know it's very important to your health and your baby's well-being, it can be hard to simply get started. The number one recommendation I can give you is to not to do this on your own. It's just too big of a leap during this season in your life. The great news is you have some excellent options that can make your exercise time downright fun. Look for an exercise system or group specifically designed for pregnant women. (For a detailed review of such a system, see the author's resource box following this article.) Look for one that gives abundant support. This is crucial! You need to be in regular contact with other exercising pregnant women. This will give you the motivation you need to keep up your exercise program even when you don't feel like it. Let's face it. You'll need someplace to vent and share openly about your pregnancy experiences. An exercise group of other moms-to-be could be a very, very helpful thing to you. I highly recommend it. So do something wonderful for yourself and your baby today and get moving!
Nine Anti-aging Tips To Stay Younger Longer
Can’t figure out where to start to improve the quality of your lifestyle? Here are some simple things to help get started. If you can follow the suggestions for a month, you will be well on your way to reducing belly fat AND establishing an anti-aging lifestyle. It’s not difficult – if you really want to do it. Remember, these are baby steps, but you have to start some place. 1. Check your fridge. If you use butter, you can use less by diluting it half-and-half with olive oil. Let a bar of butter soften to room temperature. Beat it smooth and gradually beat in an equal amount of olive oil. It will be runny but will set up to a soft spread in the fridge. 2. Rethink the mayo. If you can’t live without it, make your own with olive oil. Then you will really have something worthwhile to spread on bread or to make a salad. 3. If you eat peanut butter, buy Smart Balance peanut butter for it’s omega- 3 content. If you are not taking an omega-3 supplement, you should. 4. Keep a gallon bottle of water on the kitchen counter or at work. Drink at least half of it every day. Having it in plain sight will help you drink more of it. 5. Check your pantry. Don’t restock chips, cookies, soda, toaster pastries, sugary breakfast “cereals” (a misnomer if ever there was one!) It’s just as quick and easy to scramble a couple of eggs for breakfast as it is to wait for a pastry to toast. I know how tough it is to get rid of the nutritionally bankrupt junk, so do it in small steps if you can’t do it cold turkey. 6. Substitute whole grain bread for white bread. Beware of “wheat” bread – it’s probably not whole wheat. If possible, go to a whole foods market and get some real whole wheat bread. In my area, I can buy incredibly good whole grain bread from Alvarado Street Bakery. You can buy it online, and if you do, put it in the freezer the minute it arrives. Because it’s “live” and preservative free, it will get moldy very quickly if you leave it out. I particularly enjoy the Alvarado sprouted whole grain bread. 7. Having a whole foods market nearby makes it easy to cut down on processed food. If you make a trip a couple of times a week you can get all the super-fresh veggies and fruit you will need to provide a healthier diet for your family. For protein, focus on chicken – preferably baked or roasted. I use a lot of ground turkey – you can prepare it so many ways. If you work and are pressed for time, many whole foods markets offer excellent take out. It may cost more but it's usually worth it. You will notice I did not mention fish. I rarely buy fish because it’s so difficult to get good fish. If I can’t get wild salmon or other fish that hasn’t been farm raised, I don’t bother. I would never eat shrimp because it causes too many intestinal problems. There is another way to get the benefits of eating fish – in fish oil capsules. True, you run the risk of contamination there as well. But I think I’d rather opt for the capsules than supermarket fish that looks like it’s seen better days, and probably has. 8. Skip fried anything as much as possible. And you certainly won’t need your deep fat fryer anymore, so throw it away. (Well okay, give it away. But you won’t be doing anyone a favor.) 9. If you are an emotional eater, eat unbuttered popcorn or dry roasted nuts, such as almonds or cashews. You can flavor popcorn with garlic salt or any seasoning of your choice. Or try spritzing on garlic flavored olive oil. Drink green tea to wash it down. Most commercial green teas are bitter or tasteless but I have found some very tasty teas at Clipper teas. This should be more than enough to help you start to live a healthier, anti-aging lifestyle. Start with at least one step and add others as you develop a system you will stick with.
Work At Home Moms: So You’re Having A Baby
I know it isn’t easy. Here you are expecting and needing to be pampered and appreciated, and you have to start thinking about how you are going to earn a good income working from home and taking care of a new baby at the same time. As if having a baby wasn’t enough of a life-changing event, you are going to have to change the way you work, and when you work, and where you work. You are probably going to have to become an independent contractor if you want to work on your own schedule and have enough flexibility to take care of a baby at the same time. The good part is that working from home on your own, you get to call the shots. You can be your own boss, set your own schedule, and be as creative as you want to be without some know nothing boss interfering with your latest brainstorm. The problem is deciding what to do and how to earn a great living doing it. You probably also have to concern yourself with money. Right now it seems like it is all out go what with baby furniture, pampers, baby cloths, doctor bills, and the loss of a steady income from your prior job. You need something that requires no investment. But there is hope. What if you could do something you really love to do, are good at, and can make money, at the same time that you are networking and socializing with friends and neighbors: something that will keep you from being lonely and feeling isolated from your former co-workers, something that will let you use your imagination while you earn lots of money. It is possible to find something to do that will earn you a great living and give you pleasure and enjoyment at the same time. Of course nothing can compare to the happiness your baby will bring you, but sometimes you need some grown up companionship and mental stimulation even if it is by e-mail, or on the telephone. I don’t want to keep you in suspense any longer. What you can do that you are good at, need to do, and enjoy doing, is shopping. Yes that’s right, you can make money shopping from home in your free time while you are socializing with friends and making new friends and acquaintances. It’s a win, win situation. You can do this from home by shopping on the Internet. You can take control of your own future and help provide your family with a wonderful living. You can be the boss. You can do what you are good at. Who doesn’t like to shop? © Copyright Arthur Levine 2007 Feel free to use this article if you give credit to the resource box.
Interesting Facts About Perfumes
High living has always been associated with the use of perfumes. In the old days with royalty people espousing the need for fragrances, the bourgeois society soon followed. Perfumes from natural odorants like sandalwood or musk were preferred. In today`s world due to illegal trafficking and species endangerment, natural odorants are replaced by synthetic aromatics. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. Aromas like musk from natural ingredients are extremely complex and have been impossible to imitate through synthetic aromatics like nitro-musks or macrocyclic musks. On the other hand, synthetic aromas like ozone, marine, metallic, etc., have no parallel olfactory relationship in the natural odorants. So nowadays with modern technology of perfume manufacturing and synthetic aromas, new categories have been created. Categories that can be best described as: 1 - Bright Floral - very popular and meant for almost everyone and all occasions; 2 - Woody - it evokes the forest refreshing smell; 3 - Green - it has a lighter fragrance and is meant for casual wear; 4 - Oceanic - it is very popular among the younger generation; 5 - Spicy Fruit - a good choice for tropical weather or during summer; 6 - Oriental - it is meant for special occasions. Spicy scents. It is very important the composition of perfumes, because the right combination of scents (as rose, jasmine, cola), modifiers (esters), blenders (linalool, hydroxycitronellol) and fixatives(like resins, wood scents and amber), can provide the unique smell by which brand name perfumes are so famous and desired for. Some famous brand name perfumes are: 1 - Eau de Cologne (1709) 2 - Chanel No. 5 (1921) 3 - Opium YSL (1977) 4 - Azzaro Pour Homme (1978) 5 - Anais Anais (1979) 6 - Poison Christian Dior (1985) 7 - Eternity Calvin Klein (1988) 8 - Envy Gucci (1997) 9 - Nu YSL (2001) 10 - Rose 31 (2006) Also, preservation of perfumes is of vital significance as it degrades if kept carelessly. Previously all perfumes used to come in open bottles with caps. These bottles kept the fragrance intact for about a year. As it was used, the level of the perfume went down, and it was exposed to oxygen contained in the empty space of the bottle. This eventually changed the perfume`s fragrance. Heat, light, oxygen, and extraneous organic materials, further distorted the fragrance. Thus glass bottles, though extremely decorative, allowed light, and contributed to the degradation of the scent. It is now a well known fact that light-tight aluminum bottles are best for the preservation of perfumes, especially when they are refrigerated at low temperatures from 3 to 7 degree Celsius. The oxygen contained inside the bottle cannot be removed completely but it can be minimized by the use of rollers instead of open bottles. Further minimization of oxygen exposure can be attained by the use of sprays. Thus almost all modern day perfume come in spray bottles, which isolate the perfume from mixing with outside oxygen, skin, detritus, and dust, thereby promoting the longevity of the olfactory quality of the perfume.

Move Over Chicken Soup…There’s a New Book in Town
Ladies, it’s time you told your story. We all have one…I know you want to tell it. I’m giving you that chance. I’ve created a hot new book called “Flowers in a Urinal; real stories about real women™” and its purpose is to give women a place to share their story. My goal is to help women overcome obstacles in their lives by letting them know they are not alone. We need to be empowered, stand together and overcome this chauvinistic world we pretend we don’t live in. I come from abusive relationships, broken marriages, being a single mom on welfare, having a serious addiction to food and no self esteem. I have stories. I’ve overcome most of these obstacles and I’m strongly working on the others. Imagine being alone, being afraid, being in a spot in your life where you have no one to turn to. Now imagine picking up this book and reading a story about you. It’s YOU! Only it’s been written by someone else. Wow…you aren’t alone. You don’t need to be afraid. You can overcome whatever it is that’s bringing you down. Imagine being the author of that story knowing that you were able to make a difference in someone else’s life by sharing your story. What a rewarding feeling. Ladies, take a stand. Tell me your story! Tell others your story. Let them know they aren’t alone. Help me get the word out to others so they can tell their story. Pass this on to everyone you know and ask them to keep passing it on.
History of Perfume & Fragrance
Perfume is one of those products that may influence our emotions. People`s sense of smell influences behavior and sets different moods. It may even bring up memories of the past. As a marketing tool, perfume is also present in our everyday lives and it can be found in lots of consumer products. Besides the fact that perfume is so popular, have you ever wandered how it came into being what it is today? What`s the history of perfume? Some anthropologists say that perfume was used by primitive man thru the burning of gums and resins for incense. Eventually from 7000 to 4000 bc, richly scented plants, animal and fatty oils of olive and sesame are thought to have been combined with fragrant plants to create original ointments. Three thousand years ago in ancient Egypt, historians believe that perfume was first used in rituals, as part of their religious ceremonies, creating a pleasant smell. These scents came from gums, resin trees, oil and from a variety of plants resulting in a perfume unguent that was rubbed into the skin. Hundreds of years later, women of Egypt were using perfume for their cosmetic qualities. It is believed that Egytptian queen Cleopatra had her own exclusive balms and scents used as cosmetics and aphrodisiac, which helped her to conquer Julius Caesar and later Mark Anthony. Also from this same era, it is believed that perfume was used in Mesopotamia for ritual ceremonies. And farther east, in China, aromatic herbs were used for medicine purposes. Later on as trade routes expanded, perfume became very popular and demand for scent products increased trade among different civilizations. Africa and India started to supply Middle Eastern civilization with spikenard and ginger. Syrians sold fragrant goods to Arabia. Mediterranean civilization began buying cymbopogon and ginger from South Arabia. And so the trade of scent goods kept on, and as it continued to swell, fragrance perfume was eventually introduced thru time to several civilizations such as Hindus, Israelites, Carthaginians, Arabs, Greeks, Romans and finally reintroduced hundreds of years later in Italy and France. By the 13th century Italy was doing major trades of spices and perfumes with Eastern civilizations. Portugal and Spain were also trying to establish important trades of spices by having exclusive routes to the East. That`s how the new world of America got to be discovered. As Italian perfume influence swept over neighboring countries, France began expanding the use of perfume by first offering perfumed gloves, which were most often perfumed with neroli or animal scents such as ambergris and civet. From then on, French perfume has become famous worldwide and today sets the standard for excellence. Also France played a major role in reestablishing the use of perfume for therapeutic purposes in the western world. It has been reported that during Word War II, therapeutic perfume had been used in the treatment of wounds and burns, and later in the treatment of psychiatric problems. Perfume has brought different people together in the past thru the trade of aromatic scents. It also played a major deal, since its trade meant economical power for the nations. And so the history of modern man has been greatly influenced by this special product, enabling new worlds to be discovered. On a personal level, perfume is capable of influencing people`s behavior and that by itself sets perfume in a class by itself. Perhaps that`s what makes it so desirable by all of us. Miscarriage Story & Multiple Miscarriages
When you are focussing on trying to conceive a baby, the last thing that usually occurs to you is the possibility that you might lose it, unless of course you have previously suffered pregnancy loss. Especially when experiencing the type of euphoria that overwhelms you when you find you’ve been successful after a long time, it can be virtually impossible to allow such an awful possibility to gain access to your head. And if, like me, you haven’t devoured an entire library of pregnancy books, spines and all, before becoming pregnant you can be blissfully ignorant of the things that can go wrong with pregnancy. And even if you do like to be prepared for all eventualities, in the effort to remain positive and uplifting, to convey the joy of pregnancy, most of the pregnancy books devote little coverage to topics such as what to expect during miscarriage or what a miscarriage looks like. For that you need to go straight to the books entitled ‘Miscarriage’ and who, when newly pregnant, is doing that, no matter what paranoid tendencies they may possess? Even when I was finally pregnant again after my first miscarriage I was not tempted. Well, not much, only a bit. I confess that I may have picked one up and peeped inside before realizing I was on the verge of taking leave of my senses and put it hurriedly back on the shelf. So, how do you know if you’ve had a miscarriage and not realized it? Especially if you hadn’t heard or read anything about it beforehand, it is entirely possible to have missed it altogether. Statistics on miscarriage are based on ‘known pregnancies’ and do not take into account women who miscarry when they didn’t know they were pregnant. Generally it is passed off as a particularly heavy or nasty period, with heavier than usual bleeding accompanied by some clotting. A pregnancy test when taken up to several days after a miscarriage will still show a positive result. My state of denial after my second miscarriage was so strong that I frantically took two further tests, despite an ultrasound having shown nothing but an empty sac and the fact that I’d bled the equivalent of small dam, and both of them showed the strong double line. I called my doctor, who told me that the pregnancy hormones could remain in my system for up to a week. Miscarriage emotions, on the other hand can last a lot longer and can vary widely: from hysteria involving wailing uncontrollably and flinging oneself at objects like a Greek widow at a funeral, to the depths of despair causing curling up in foetal position for days at a time, to a kind of blank dissociative state where you go through the motions of living without feeling anything. Is it harder to conceive after a miscarriage? Personally I found it hard to conceive before and after my miscarriages but this was due to a whole host of reasons, which may or may not have been linked to the miscarriages themselves. My doctors, after each miscarriage, advised me to ideally wait three months before trying again, to ‘allow the system to get back into order’ or words to that effect. Yet I’ve met many women who didn’t even wait to have another period, they resumed trying again right away and fell pregnant first go. Even after loss of infant due to miscarriage, when the miscarriage is later in the pregnancy and not far from a still birth, women conceive relatively quickly and successfully. I had a work colleague who lost a baby at twenty weeks and just over a year later she gave birth to a healthy child. So, achieving pregnancy after a miscarriage is more likely to be difficult if you had difficulties before the miscarriage, like myself. Some women, after the initial ‘hiccup’ will sail through and never have another problem whereas there are those of us who will experience a spectrum of problems in our endeavours to have a child. Something to remember is that, if one in four (including the unknown) pregnancies end in miscarriage, the more pregnancies you achieve there is some chance that you may lose one of them.
Practical Tips On Choosing The Right Perfume
Perfume is considered to be one of the most must-haves for any status-conscious person in any society. Initially, it was being used by the upper-class society as a high-end accessory; but, later it became available even to the most common person in the society. In the modern age, the use of perfume has become virtually indispensable as it potentially adds to the personality of a person. The history and background of perfume can be traced back to the ancient times of Egypt. The word `Perfume` has been coined by the combination of two Latin words such as `Per` (Through) and `Fume` (Smoke). The art of making perfumes took place in ancient Egypt but it was the Romans and the Arabs who improved it subsequently. There are many procedures being followed these days for making the modern perfumes but the most general process is extracting oils from flowers by distillation which was introduced by an Iranian doctor named Avicenna. Usually, the exact formulae of making perfumes and fragrances are kept confidential by the designer houses; however, some perfume specialists are skilled enough to identify the ingredients, components and origins of the perfume and scents. At the present day, France is dominating the European perfume design and trade industry, and the `Perfumery` has become one of the most potentially profitable businesses in the world. How to pick the right perfume? Choosing the right perfume and fragrance has become increasingly difficult for the customers as the cosmetic market is being invaded by numerous new perfumes and scent brands each and every day. Now a days, perfumes and fragrances can be found in different flavors and ingredients. They are being manufactured and offered in bottles of different shapes and sizes according to the needs of the targeted customers. While visiting a cosmetic store, a customer often gets confused about what could be the right one for him/her. However, there are some guidelines if followed can help those confused customers remove their doubts and select the right perfume for them. They are as follows: Skin: Try different perfumes and fragrances to know what suits your skin the best. No two perfumes are alike in fragrance, flavor and smell. Hence what suits the most, may not necessarily suit you. Do not just blindly follow the branded perfumes. It really pays to try different perfumes before you settle for one. Smell: Always go for a perfume that contains fresh smells and makes you attractive and impressive. Have your best friend (preferably female) give his/her views on the particular perfume you are trying. Often, it is the other person who can tell you what goes right with you. Ingredients and Flavors: Perfumes can be selected using different ingredients and flavors. They are different categories of perfumes such as woody perfume, fruit perfume, floral perfume, oceanic perfume, greens perfume and oriental perfume. Usually, each of these fragrances is suitable for a male or female depending on their personal preference. However, you can always go for one that best suits your personality and life-style. Climate and Season: While choosing a perfume, one should consider the climate and season. What goes best in the winter may not be even good enough in the summer. Hence, it is extremely important to choose the perfume that does justice to the climate and to your skin. Moreover, perfumes should be selected as per the occasions and festivals too. For instance, a particular perfume may be just perfect for a birthday party you are attending, but when it comes to a boardroom meeting you have choose a different one.

Perfume (Latin "per fume" meaning "through smoke") was highly favored by the Egyptians, Romans, and Arabs. In East Asia, perfumes were incense based. People used to make perfumes from spices and herbs like bergamot, myrtle, coriander, conifer resin, and almond. The use of flowers came only after Avicenna, an Iranian doctor and chemist showed the process of distillation, whereby oils could be extracted from flowers. In 1370, at the behest of Queen Elizabeth of Hungary, the world's first modern perfume - "Hungary Water" was made by blending scented oils in alcohol solution. The composition of a perfume is of vital significance and is handled by an expert known as a perfumer, who deals with primary scents like rose, jasmine, cola, etc; modifiers like esters; blenders like linalool and hydroxycitronellol; and fixatives like resins, wood scents, and amber bases. The resulting scent is explained in a musical metaphor of three 'notes', namely, top notes (consisting of fast evaporating small size molecules) like citrus and ginger scents; middle notes (consisting of slow evaporating medium size molecules) like lavender and rose scents; and base notes (consisting of slowest evaporating largest size molecules) like fixatives etc. All these notes work together like a musical chord. Perfume oils contain volatile compounds in high concentrations and thus have to be diluted by solvents, so that injury is not caused when applied directly on skin or clothes. The common solvent is pure ethanol or ethanol mixed with water. Fractionated coconut oil or wax, neutral smelling fats such as jojoba, can also act as solvents and dilute the perfume oil. The perfume oil is further mixed with other aromatic compounds. Generally, the percentage of aromatic compounds in perfume extract is 20% to 40%; in eau de parfum is 10% to 30%; in eau de toilette is 5% to 20%; and in eau de cologne is 2% to 5%. The oil concentration in a perfume along with other aromatic compounds, determines the intensity, longevity, and price of the perfume and thus it is a closely guarded secret of every perfumer and perfume house. By adjusting the percentage level and the notes of the perfume, variations on the same brand may be created like Chanel's Pour Monsieur and Pour Monsieur Concentree. Classification of perfumes is never complete, due to its ever-evolving nature. The traditional classification comprises of categories like Single Floral, Floral Bouquet, Ambery, Woody, Leather, Chypre, and Fougere; while the modern classification comprises of Bright Floral, Green, Oceanic/Ozone, Citrus/Fruity, and Gourmand. In 1983, Michael Edwards, a perfume consultant, created a new fragrance classification "The Fragrance Wheel", which classified and sub-grouped five standard families, namely Floral (Floral, Soft Floral, Floral Oriental), Oriental (Soft Oriental, Oriental, Woody Oriental), Woody (Wood, Mossy Woods, Dry Woods), Fougere (has fragrance elements from all the families), and Fresh (Citrus, Green, Water). Perfumery has used a number of aromatic sources like plants, animals, and synthetic sources in the making of perfumes. Plants are used as a source of aroma compounds and essential oils. The parts of plants that are used are: 1 - Bark (cinnamon, cascarilla); 2 - Flowers (rose, jasmine, osmanthus, tuberose, mimosa, vanilla); 3 - Blossoms (citrus, ylang-ylang, clove); 4 - Fruits (apples, strawberries, cherries, litsea cubeba, juniper berry, vanilla, oranges, lemons, limes, grapefruit); 5 - Leaves and Twigs (lavender, patchouli, citrus, violets, sage, rosemary, hay, tomato); 6 - Resins (labdanum, myrrh, gum benzoin, Peru balsam, frankincense/olibanum, pine, fir, amber, copal); 7 - Roots, Bulbs, and Rhizomes (vetiver roots, ginger and iris rhizomes); 8 - Seeds (coriander, cocoa, mace, cardamom, anise, nutmeg, caraway, tonka bean); 9 - Woods (agarwood, birch, rosewood, sandalwood, pine, birch, juniper, cedar). Animal sources include Ambergris, Castoreum, Musk, Rom terpenes, Honeycomb, and Civet. Other natural sources include Lichens and Protists. Synthetic sources include synthetic odorants synthesized from petroleum distillates, pine resins, etc. Modern perfumes are mostly made from synthetic sources as they allow fragrances not found in nature, like Calone is a synthetic compound that imparts a marine metallic ozonous fragrance. Synthetic aromatics are more consistent than natural aromatics, and are hence, widely used nowadays in modern available perfumes.
Perfumes For Men And Women
If you want people to think that you are beautiful, attractive and good, then the easiest way to do it is to select the right perfume. >From its inception in human history, cosmetics have always played different roles in making people presentable. Perfumes are one of the most used cosmetics since then, even though they were not made of synthetic contents as of today. But the fact remains that in ancient times, perfumes were used as part of ritual cerimonies. Back then aromatic grasses, wood and spices like cinnamon, cardamoms and fenugreek were squeezed into fluid to produce perfume. The word "perfume" has originated from a Latin word "parfumare" meaning "through smoke". Archeological researches say the concept of perfume came from Egypt. Of course, followed by other Chinese, Indians, Romanians and Greeks before the whole world made it daily-essential in their lives. Even though in the ancient culture perfumes were considered womanly affair, in today's world there are as many male versions of perfumes as female ones. Some of the famous brands of male perfume are: Dolce & Gabbana, Hugo Boss, Jean Paul Gaultier, Tommy Hilfiger, and Weekend for men and many others. Beware that brand perfume by itself is not considered a fragrance. There are style conscious men who wear perfume according to their moods. There are perfumes that go with their schedule, for instance corporate, semi-casual or casual perfumes. Some of the corporate brands of perfumes for men are Sean John, Armani, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, and Hugo Boss which are the most chosen perfumes internationally for corporate getup. While Armani has a few corporate fragrances with woody flavors, together with Calvin Klein perfumes are supposed to be most luring with a heavy masculine touch. Also, Hugo Boss has been a famous brand, for both its cost and class. You don't have to earn like a CEO to wear Hugo Boss, but it certainly does make everyone to smell good! There is a range of must-wear perfumes for party freaks, avid bikers or those to want to smell great even on weekends: Weekend for men, though is a new brand, does have a whole range of fragrances to make one's weekend sensual. Hugo Boss new collection with aqua elements are always recommended for casual wears. For bikers or car race fans - Ferrari, DKNY or Tommy Hilfiger are among great choices. Where should a woman wear perfume? The answer is simple wherever they want to be kissed! We cannot talk about perfumes if we don't talk about women. Perfumes play a great role in women's sensuality. All time favorite for any woman when it comes to perfumes are Christian Dior's collection: Dior's Jadore and Addict that have been in the market for a long time. For women who want to smell a bit sweet and yet want to leave a whiff of smell behind, it is suggested the latest collection of Burberry perfumes. And if sensuality is something your partner is luring for, go for Nina Ricci's spring-summer collection. The other perfumes that you can pick are Escada, Gap, or Tommy Hilfiger's exclusive girl's collections when you want to accompany him on a car race. Apparently, a perfume is bottled to blend with natural odor to create a distinctive fragrance for your personality. So, you must use a single brand of perfume to make your signature style perfect over days and days. Last but not the least, you must not wear perfume over sweaty clothes to cover bad body odor, it makes the vicinity around that personal intolerable. Perfumes, as the saying goes were used as a tribute to Gods so they must be sprayed when you are clean. There Is A Perfume For Everyone
Perfumes are an essential part of our everyday life. They were first used in Egypt, but are now used throughout the world for different reasons. Perfumes come in different varieties, concentrations, fragrances, bottles and rates. Perfumes are usually a solution of fragrant aromatic oils and a solvent like ethanol. They are mixed in different proportions to create different intensity of scents. The commonly used eau de cologne has 2-5% of aromatic oil. These aromatic oils are extracted from various natural and synthetic sources to create several kinds of fragrances. By mixing different oils, scents like floral, oriental, woody, fresh, leather, chypre and fourgere are created. Major brands of designer perfumes are available to all over the world, such as YSL, Estee Lauder, Dolce Gabbana, Chanel, Calvin Klein, Christian Dior, Hugo Boss, Ralph Lauren, Roberto Cavalli, Salvador Dali, Stella McCartney, Victoria Secret and many more. Types of Perfumes
There are hundreds, perhaps thousands of types of perfumes in today`s market. The high demand for various types of perfumes makes it easily available to find them from inexpensive to moderate expensive to very expensive types of perfumes for all tastes and pockets. One does not have to go very far in order to find major brands available. The most common way to describe a perfume is perhaps considering its concentration level, where it has been originated from, and the notes of the scent. The most common scent is floral with ingredients such as carnation, jasmine, violet, orange blossoms, lilies, orchids, just to name a few. All perfumes and colognes are different and they are meant to associate the personality and skin type of users. In order to classify a perfume or cologne, one interesting aspect to consider would be the percentage of concentration by volume of perfume oil: Perfume usually has in its content, 15 to 25% of perfumed oil. Eau de Perfume usually has in its content 8 to 15% of perfumed oil. Eau de Toilette usually has in its content 4 to 10% of perfumed oil. Eau de Cologne usually has in it content 2 to 5% of perfumed oil. Nowadays with modern technology of perfume manufacturing, new categories have been formed, the most common of them being described as: Bright Floral - the most popular of them all, meant for almost everyone and for any occasion. Earthy or Woody - it evokes the environment of the forest, with a very refreshing smell. This fragrance has a strong appeal to the older generation. Green - it is considered to be a lighter fragrance and is meant for casual wear. Oceanic - it is very popular with the younger generation. Spicy Fruit - it is a good choice for tropical weather. Oriental - it is composed of spicy scents, meant for special occasions. Plants are the largest source of fragrant compounds used in the perfume industry. Fruits such as oranges, lemons, limes and grapefruit are also used. Some seeds and woods are very important in providing the base notes to a perfume. Most modern perfumes and colognes are made using the fragrance oils that the fragrances houses develop using essential oils and aromatic chemicals. The fragrance oils are then blended with ethyl alcohol and water and then aged in thanks for a certain time and filtered through processing equipment to remove any particles before the solution can be considered ready to go into the perfume bottles. Most fragrances with the names of well known designers are constantly improving in order to produce top quality perfumes. Due to the high demand that major brands experience, it suggests that the perfume industry will keep on a fast mode for quite some time in the future. Finally, it is a good idea to keep in mind that different people have different tastes and the choice or preference for a particular fragrance is a very personal one and may vary dramatically from one person to another, suggesting that it is better to try it before you buy. Custom Jewelry And Enhancer Bails Work For Your Pendant
Enhancer Bails Work. Generally, an enhancer is a bail which opens to allow the necklace, pearls, for instance, to be inserted and the enhancer is closed to secure it to the necklace. The types of closures are an important consideration. Some only "snap" shut. Others only have a small "figure 8" shaped safety that folds from one side over a small bead on the other to make the closure. The "figure 8" safety is one commonly seen on bangle bracelets, gold necklaces with box or cylindrical clasps and on bracelets. The most secure type of enhancer both "snaps" shut and has the "figure 8" safety for added assurance the enhancer will not come open while being worn on the necklace. Generally, a 14k gold enhancer bail will run from about $50 to $90 in the most common sizes. Fancier ones and added stones will certainly increase the price. If the pendant you have will need a loop soldered on to fit the enhancer, or if the enhancer must be soldered to the pendant, the cost will rise a little. A simple loop soldered on will be about $14 to $18 in my neck of the woods. Solder directly to the enhancer will run from $10 to perhaps $15, including soldering and refinishing. This is added to the cost of the enhancer. Prices certainly may vary from location to location. Keep in mind, in the usa most jewelers can get the findings, parts, like enhancer bails, for essentially the same prices, regardless of location. For any pendant, and enhancer of the right size is needed to maintain balance in the look of the jewelry. The enancer should fit the necklace and not overpower or look too small for the pendant. Then again, a necklace of pearls should also balance in size with the pendant. I have seen some enhancers which are much too large for the pendant part of the jewelry and detract from the beauty. If the necklace requires a larger opening, you might choose a longer and more "slim" enhancer which can accommodate a larger necklace but is narrow enough to look in balance with the pendant. The best thing I can suggest is to go to a jewelry shop and ask to see enhancers. Generally, not many are kept in stock since it is very difficult to predict what a particular customer may need. You can generally see life sized images in catalogs from suppliers. At this time, the store should be able to tell you what labor or modifications to your pendant are needed to fit the enhancer. There is alot of people that are looking for a some custom jewelery like a gold jerusalem cross pendant with small diamonds or cz at the center of each cross. This unusual form of cross is not likely to be found in stock in jewelry stores. Sometimes these stores will have cross jewelry but most will not be made in gold. My suggsent is, you will likely have to go to jewelry stores and ask if they can special order the cross for you. At this time of the year, the sooner you can do this the better. Once you get the cross, any competent jeweler should be able to add a stone to the cross. I did find one jewelry supplier who has a Jerusalem Cross in their religious jewelry catalog. This company is Stuller Findings. The company sells only to businesses but so many jewelry stores use Stuller for supplies and various jewelry items it should not be too difficult to find a store with a Stuller account. The cross could then be ordered. The order would need to specify white gold. Alternative suggestion. There are many of these crosses listed on Internet sellers sites along with other jewelry that you might like. I do not know if white gold is available or not and that will take a search and perhaps an inquiry to the seller. If you can get the cross that way, still, a local jeweler should have little problem setting a stone in the cross. Whether stones may be set in the side crosses will depend on how the cross is made in the first place. Center should be no problem in the larger cross. Custom Work: A jewelry store who advertises "custom work" should be able to make the cross if you cannot find one. This approach will be more expensive and it might be pushing to get this custom work done by the time that you need it at. If you try the custom direction, please download and print or otherwise get pictures of the cross for the jeweler to see. This will be needed to get the cross done properly and initially to work up and estimate of cost. There are certainly some other suppliers that jewelry stores use who will have a Jerusalem cross available. When checking stores, I recommend local stores first and not mall chain stores. Local stores often have a lot more flexibility for special ordered items such as the cross. Local stores are often more eager to place a special order than some chain stores appear to be.
Designer Perfume Fragrances
How Perfume Is Made Today Perfume is a scented liquid worn on the skin to impart a pleasant odor. Perfume is made up of animal and plant-based aromatic compounds, dissolved in a mixture of alcohol and water. Perfume is the most highly concentrated form of fragrance. The ratio of alcohol to scent determines whether the perfume is "eau de toilette" (toilet water) or cologne. Perfume - The Sensuous, Long-Lasting Fragrance To be termed a "true" or "real" perfume, a fragrance must contain at least 15 pure or 190 proof) through a process known as maceration. The concentration of fragrance oils and alcohol are then combined in stainless steel vats for a period of weeks, sometimes months, allowing the molecules of the plants to blend together. Both cologne and discount perfume that have blends of floral and citrus-based fragrances are recommended for casual and daywear. Spicy, woody or warm amber-based fragrances are traditionally favorites for evening and special occasions. Conclusion: What Perfume Should You Choose? There are several categories of fragrances available today: perfume is most concentrated, followed by eau de parfum, eau de toilette, and eau de cologne, each containing a lesser degree of aromatic oils, respectively. Pure perfume is rarely sold, since it is prohibitively expensive and too easy to 'overdo'. With so many different fragrances to choose from, you'll find the right scent that uplifts your senses. The healthiest perfume are therapeutic-grade essential oils - they are unadulterated, not mixed with additives, and 100% pure. Most of all, they are certain not to harm animals, because they are derived solely of plant materials without the use of stabilizing agents scraped from tormented animals! They are followed by natural fragrance extracts in an alcohol base. The alcohol destroys the healing power of the live essence (essential oil), but the fragrance oils smell nice. Last but most common today are the synthetic fragrances. They cannot be discerned from true natural scents, are much cheaper to produce, and are added to all the common "aromatherapy" products on the market today like room fresheners, scented toilet cleaners, and of course perfume. They may cause headache to unsuspected and sensitive users. Looking for a safe, healing, uplifting and environmental conscious perfume: Therapeutic-grade essential oils are best suited as perfume because they are pure and unadulterated, and contain no additives. They are kind and safe to wear, and clarify and magnetize the aura of the wearer.
An Inside to Perfume
INTRODUCTION The word “perfume” derives from the Latin words per and fumus - meaning “through smoke”, which refers to man’s early ritual of releasing pleasing or masking odours into the air by burning or heating fragrant materials. Throughout the years we have evolved from releasing the fragrances into the air, to wearing them on our person in various forms. SCENTS Fragrances are classified according to the concentration of scent within the fragrance. Those fragrances with a higher concentration of scent (essential oils) have a higher intensity/longevity, which explains the dramatic differences in price between an eau de cologne and Perfume extract. Perfume extract: 20-40% essential oils. Eau de parfum (EDP): 10-30% essential oils. Eau de toilette (EDT): 5-20% essential oils. Eau de cologne (EDC): 2-5% essential oils. Fragrances are often classified as belong to a particular “family”. The following is a breakdown of traditional perfume family classifications, followed by some newer ones which have emerged in more recent years: Amber: A vanilla basis with floral & wood scents. Chypre: Fragrances containing undertones of patchouli, bergamot, oakmoss etcetera. Single Floral: These fragrances are dominated by the scent of one particular flower. Floral Bouquet: Scents containing combinations of two or more flowers. Fougère: Scents with an underlying base of lavender, oakmoss and coumarin, providing a “herbaceous” woody fragrance. Leather: These fragrances have the underlying scents of wood, tobacco and honey, suggestive of real “leather”. Woody: These fragrances feature the scents of sandalwood, cedar, patchouli. Citrus: A predominantly citrus-based scent. Bright Floral: Combination of Single Floral and Floral Bouquet. Green: A less heavy version of Chypre scents. Gourmand: A scent which resembles particular food flavours including vanilla bean, strawberry. Oceanic/Ozone: A fresh, light, clean scent, used in many scents available for him/her. Along with the above scents, each perfume also contains three individual notes, which are detailed in the order in which they are appreciated: Top (or Head) Notes: The initial impression given by a fragrance immediately after application. This evaporates after a few minutes and is no longer noticeable. Middle (Heart) Notes: The second-stage scent which appears once the head notes fade, and the fragrance blends with the body’s own chemistry (and the reason why perfumes smell different on different people). This takes between 10-20 minutes to develop and lasts for several hours. Base Notes: The remaining, lingering scent which remains once the perfume has dried, after the middle notes also fade. This is the lasting, staying power of the fragrance. CONCLUSION When buying a perfume, it is important to consider what occasion it is to be worn for, and choose from an appropriate “family”. Some of the lighter citrus or oceanic scents are perfect for summer days, whilst a heavier floral bouquet is more fitting for a winter’s evening. Most importantly, when testing a new fragrance prior to purchase you must take into consideration the three notes outlined above before placing your order with.
Bracelet, How To Choose The Right Bracelet
Bracelet, Choosing The Right Bracelet Tips On Buying A Bracelet. If you are looking for a bracelet, there are a few things that you should know. A bracelet would normally be more expensive than a ring. This is because the gold or silver weight in your bracelet would be more than what a ring weighs. If you are interested in a gemstone bracelet, the cost of the gemstones will also add to the price tag of the bracelet. A good quality bracelet cannot be cheap and this is the reason why you should make a proper evaluation of a bracelet before buying it. In this article we will provide you with simple and easy steps to check a bracelet before you buy it. We do hope that your jeweller will provide you with advice and suggestions, but most jewellers are more interested in rushing the buyer to make a purchase. The first thing that you should consider is the basic design of the bracelet. The design should be streamlined without sharp or pointed edges. Sharp edges can not only injure delicate skin, but also get bent or dented easily. The type of mounting used for the diamonds and gemstones in your bracelet will depend on the design. Prongs used to mount gems need to be sturdy and strong. If the gemstones in your bracelet are mounted with thin needle-like prongs, the prongs can get caught in pockets and other places. This causes the prongs to gradually open up, this ofcourse loosens the gemstones which can then drop off. The design dimensions for your bracelet should take the metal weight into consideration. A wide width with low gold or silver weight, will mean that the metal is too thin. This can cause your bracelet to lose shape and get damaged. The metal weight of the bracelet is another important thing to be checked. Good mounting of the gemstones or diamonds in your bracelet will need sufficient gold or silver weight. There can be no standard weight suitable for all bracelets, much will depend on the design, the number of gems and diamonds, the length and width of the bracelet etc. Looks can be deceptive so pay special attention to the weight of your bracelet. In general you can be sure that, ladies bracelets with a metal weight that is less than 10 grams will not be durable and sturdy. Your jeweller might tell you that, healthy metal weight will make your bracelet appear clumsy and bulky. Stop believing this nonsense, the truth is that the design needs to ensure that the bracelet does not appear bulky. The design for your bracelet should have good metal thickness, this will not be visible from the front of the bracelet. Compromising on the gold or silver weight of your bracelet would also mean that, the links that connect the segments of the bracelet will be weak. This can cause the bracelet to snap, it could then easily fall off your wrist and get lost. So remember that, good metal weight is essential for gold or silver bracelets. You should also be given a wide range of gemstone options to select for your bracelet. Many jewellers use whatever few gemstones they have and put a bracelet together. This does not work to your advantage as you are restricted in your choice. You could choose the gemstones in your bracelet based on color, type, birthstone or traditional beliefs. For example, a mother's bracelet could include the birthstone of the mother and all her children. Such family birthstone bracelets can be made only if a wide choice of gems is available. There is ofcourse the issue of budget that you have at your disposal. You might see a gorgeous sapphire bracelet but, the sapphires could drive the bracelet out of your budget. You should be allowed to choose the same bracelet with cheaper gems like, blue topaz, iolite or probably cheaper sapphires. A jeweller with limited access to gems and production facilities will restrict your choice too. There is also the issue of conditions in which your bracelet would be worn. For example, an emerald bracelet needs special care when wearing and storing, this is because of the nature of emeralds. You might pefer the same bracelet design with green tourmaline instead of emeralds. Your jeweller will need to satisfy your requirements and not the other way round. The metal for your bracelet will be a component of the price tag, a gold bracelet would add a substantial amount to the price tag. You should therefore have the option to choose gold or silver for your bracelet. Most jewellers are very eager to sell gold bracelets, but will either ignore you are provide you with second grade service if you talk about a silver bracelet. This is sad but true, so look for a jeweller who is willing to make a good quality silver bracelet for you if that is what you want. It is often said and rightly that, a good quality silver bracelet is better than a delicate and light weight gold bracelet. When you choose your silver bracelet remember that, no compromises regarding gemstone choice or craftsmanship need be made. For gold bracelets, you should have the option to select a 14k or 18k bracelet and also choose the gold color. If you are looking for a white gold bracelet, there is no reason why you should be happy with a yellow gold aquamarine bracelet. Jewellers make gold bracelets with low weight, this is done to allow lower price tags. They really don't care what problems these light weight junk will cause you after the payment has been made. Insist on good craftsmanship for your bracelet, this should be the case for gold or silver bracelets. Bad craftsmanship could also mean loose gemstones and badly connected links. It is true that mass produced bracelets cannot be given individual attention. This is the reason why a custom bracelet could be best for you. Good craftsmanship is essential for ladies and men's bracelets, make sure that your bracelet is well crafted. Good craftsmanship provides more than just good appearance for your bracelet, this will clearly work to your advantage in the longterm. Let us now summarize the features that you should check for before buying a bracelet. A good design, proper mounting of gems and diamonds, and good metal weight are top priority. You should be allowed to order your bracelet with your choice of gold karatage and color and your choice of gems. Make sure that the links for the bracelet components are strong, it would be sad if your bracelet snapped and fell off. Do not forget to check that the clasp for the bracelet is strong and durable. Various clasp designs are available and some boast of a double locking mechanism. Many jewellers use thin and tiny clasps as, they do not want to waste gold or silver weight on that part of the bracelet. A loose clasp can cause the bracelet to open when least expected, depending on where this happens, you could even risk losing the bracelet. Finally, make sure that the diamonds and gems are firmly mounted. Expensive repairs could result if some of the diamonds or gems drop off and get lost. Remember that, new stone replacements will need to match the remaining gems in the bracelet. This could be a difficult task and jewellers will request premium prices for such repairs. The above information does not tell you where to buy your bracelet from. We prefer to provide you with information that will guide you to make the right bracelet selection.
What's Your Emotional Type?
For women, emotions are like water; they flow. When I first got into therapy, my therapist began to educate me about my emotions. I thought I was crazy. She said, “No, just colorful.” What she explained to me is that everyone feels their feelings differently. Some of us paint with pastels, while others go for richer hues. We have different palettes. My mother and I are very different emotionally. We have spent years coming to the place where we finally understand one another. Growing up she was the stable one, and I brought big emotional extremes and theatrical moods. As I considered how emotions are like water, contemplating the ways that water flows, I came up with the four emotional types of women. Most of us have a primary, with a secondary: River women: River women are emotion in motion. Theirs is a subtle and constant stream of emotion that flows like a river from one feeling to the next, often seamlessly. They are remarkably even-tempered, with a great sense of playfulness. If they learn to channel their emotions into positive outlets, everything they touch takes on a certain shine. Though their emotions aren’t predictable, per say, they have patterns that are known to themselves and their loved ones, which are relatively decipherable. For example, a river woman might know that weddings always make her cry. She knows to never leave the house for a wedding without a purse full of tissue. River women laugh easily, and have great senses of humor, knowing innately how to cheer others and make them smile, just as rivers provide nourishment and sanctuary for all kinds of life. Rain women: Like the rain that comes and then departs, rain women have feelings that come from out of nowhere, and then dissolve and vanish back into the mystery. A rain woman can experience sudden emotional outbursts when logically she can’t make sense of why or where the feeling is coming from. I had a friend a few years ago who was certainly a rain woman. We would be in the middle of a conversation when suddenly out of nowhere she would begin to sob about something she was feeling. I would usually be very surprised by the suddenness and intensity of her feeling. Then, just as quickly, the rains would stop and the sun would come out and she would be laughing and carrying on again. It’s very important that rain women not judge themselves just because the emotion is so sudden. Rain refreshes and renews and restores. And then it departs to make way for the sunshine. Rain women can also tend to brood, like storm clouds on the horizon. Exercise helps them move emotions through. Rain women are often moved by the emotional victories and downfalls of other people. They will cry or laugh for someone else's win or loss, even total strangers, just as quickly as for themselves. Lake women: Still waters run deep. Lake women very rarely show their emotions on the surface. They feel so deeply and so privately, that their emotions usually remain contained. They are often referred to as calm or meditative individuals. They express their feelings with a simple warm smile, or a silence that indicates their sorrow. They are most comfortable showing their feelings when they are alone, or with someone they know intimately. They are not women who repress their feelings, but women who reveal very little of what they feel just naturally. Because they feel so deeply, they are often extremely connected to their environment, and prefer to be out in nature or in retreat centers. They also make great team players, and excel at sports like golf that require significant concentration and sensing beyond themselves. Lake women are also very empathic, picking up the feelings of others and mirroring them, or taking them on as their own. This is the same way a lake mirrors a flock of geese flying overhead. They receive impressions very easily. Lake women have to learn to build protective boundaries around themselves so they do not absorb the emotions of others. Ocean women: The ocean is a vast and deep body of water, always changing on the surface. This is the most complex and rich emotional temperament, and also the most challenging. Where a river or a rain woman might have one feeling at a time, ocean women can have emotional cocktails, feeling ten ways at once, with many layers of feeling spreading in all directions. There is a lot to sort through for ocean women. They are sometimes overwhelmed. On the surface, they are much like the sea. Every day is different. Some days are calm and tranquil. Other days are tempestuous and wild. An ocean woman can wake up in the morning from a night of dreams, and her whole day will carry the emotions from her sleep. Like the ocean these women are beautiful and deep and mysterious. Because their emotions can be so vast and unidentifiable, ocean women need music and dance and art to help them find and feel their feelings fully. Talking with close friends also helps to ground the shape-shifting ocean woman, and help her identify what she feels. Ocean women who become actors can lose themselves in their characters, completely embodying the role without a trace of themselves apparent. They have access to a great reservoir of feeling that informs their lives. What emotional type are you? What emotional type do you think your best girlfriend is? What emotional type might your mother be, or your daughter?
How To Have A Healthy Pregnancy Without Gaining A Lot Of Weight
Pregnancy can be an exciting and worrying experience. Particularly if you are carrying your first child, you will be concerned about the health of your baby, and of course your own well-being as a secondary factor. On top of that, you're dealing with all sorts of hormones and emotions, which can make pregnancy difficult for the best of us. It's a simple fact that most women gain weight after their pregnancy from improper eating and a lack of exercise. This doesn't have to be the case, and there are ways in which you can survive pregnancy without gaining too much weight. The first thing to consider during pregnancy is exercise. Of course, a couple of hours at the gym isn't going to do the trick if you're eight months gone, but by remaining active and independent for as long as is possible, you can help keep your body in shape, and prepare it for the physical ordeal to come. Additionally, this will help you keep relatively fit, and stop you from piling on too many pounds waiting on baby to arrive. Pregnant women often report certain cravings, some of which can be very obscure. If you experience cravings for fatty or sugary foods, try to opt for low calorie alternatives in mitigation. Although it may not be what you are looking for, it is the best way to keep your body healthy and satisfy your urges. Another essential thing to consider during pregnancy to avoid excessive weight gain is a healthy and balanced diet. Just because you're pregnant shouldn’t give you the idea that junk food is ok. You still need to eat sensibly to avoid putting on extra weight. On top of that, maintaining a healthy diet will also improve your overall health, which will obviously have a positive effect on your baby. Furthermore by boosting your fruit and vegetable consumption, you'll be consuming vital vitamins and minerals for the health of your baby. Pregnancy is undoubtedly a difficult time, and looking after your body might not be your first and main concern. However, by living a standard healthy balanced life, you should find you'll be able to keep in shape, and avoid putting on excess weight. Furthermore, this should help you recover from the pregnancy, so you'll be back up on your feet in no time, to continue your healthy, happy lifestyle.
Six Tips For Long Lasting Summer Nail Polish
Warm weather is here, and that means most of us will be wearing nail polish more often to show off our hands and feet. The barer summer clothes and sandals mean your feet and hands will be center stage, so putting a few extra minutes into proper nail care is must for the prettiest looks. Whether you are applying nail polish to your hands or toes, the basic principles to make your manicure or pedicure last are the same. 1. Prepare your nails properly before polishing. Nail polish won’t adhere well to nails that are dirty or oily. Wash your hands thoroughly to remove any lotions, dirt or oils, and then brush each nail with a bit of nail polish remover. This will remove all oils from the nail itself and prepare it for accepting polish. 2. Lightly buff your nails and file off any rough edges. Polish will be more prone to peeling and flaking if the nails are rough around the edges or have ridges in them. Filing and buffing gives a smoother surface so that polish won’t flake. 3. Choose the right polish. Did you know that nail polish expires? Most brands will only last about a year before they become thicker and start to clump. Polish that’s too thick will go on thicker and won’t dry well, leading to more chance of smearing or smudging. Most nail polish formulas are similar and will last almost a week, but fast drying formulas are an exception. The extra ingredients that allow fast drying polishes to set so quickly also makes them peel more quickly, so try to avoid fast-dry formulas unless you absolutely have to use them. The extra few minutes spent drying a standard nail polish will be well worth it if your manicure lasts days longer. 4. Care for your polish properly. Summer weather is especially tough on nail polish – the high temperatures can cause polish to separate and the color to change. To keep your nail polish in top condition, refrigerate it in the summer. You should also clean the polish bottle carefully after each use by wiping the outside edge of the bottle with a cotton ball soaked in nail polish remover to keep the bottle from sticking shut. Finally, be sure that you gently blend the nail polish before applying by rolling the bottle between your hands. Shaking a bottle of polish will create air bubbles in the polish that can cause bumps and clumps when you apply it – guaranteed to shorten the life span of your manicure or pedicure. 5. Use a base coat and top coat. It takes a bit more time to do a complete manicure rather than just throwing on some polish, but its well worth the effort. After your nails are clean, be sure to apply a base coat; this product prepares the nail for polish and gives nail polish something to cling to so that it lasts longer. Follow this with two thin coats of polish in the desired color, and then finish off with a quality top coat. When you apply the top coat, be sure to run the brush horizontally across the tip of the nail with a bit of it going under the edge of the nail. This will help prevent peeling and seals the manicure properly. 6. Don’t rush things. Be sure to let your nails dry five to ten minutes between each coat. If the coat below isn’t completely dry before you add the next one, your nails won’t dry properly for quite a while, leading to chips and smudges. If you are in a rush or simply impatient, plunge your nails into ice water for a few seconds between coats – this will quickly dry and seal the polish. Enjoy your beautifully painted, long lasting nails! Remember not to open soda cans or pick at envelopes with your freshly painted nails. Using your nails as tools won’t help you keep your nail polish fresh at all!
Female Ejaculation Myths Document
Myth 4: Some women just can't have orgasms. While there are a percentage of women who have never had an orgasm, there is no evidence to suggest some women are incapable of having orgasms. There are two reasons why some women have not had orgasms in their lives. The first is that for whatever reason they have never masturbated. Masturbation is often a woman's first orgasm experience. The second is that they simply are not receiving the proper type of genital stimulation. Clitoral stimulation is needed by most women to have an orgasm. Without that stimulation, it most likely isn't going to happen. There are some women who have psychological blocks when it comes to experiencing sexual pleasure. This may be the result of any number of past events in their lives, but even that does not mean they are physically incapable of having an orgasm. If they worked through those problems, they would be able to engage in orgasm-producing intercourse just like any other woman. Myth 5: Women take longer to reach orgasm than men. This is another common myth which has not been supported by research. The reason people believe this is that they don't understand the female arousal pattern (we'll discuss this later in the book). Women's arousal patterns are much different than men's and, as a result, they are physically prepared for intercourse later than men are. The time from optimal arousal to orgasm is pretty much identical for both men and women. The difference is in how long it takes to reach that level of arousal. Because men often don't know how to help their partners get to that point, it does seem to take longer. Once that's changed, however, men find their partners reach orgasm more quickly and even have multiple orgasms in quick succession. Myth 6: Women should only reach orgasm through vaginal intercourse. This is definitely not true but it's a myth that has caused us to take women's sexual needs for granted for a long time. This myth actually started with Sigmund Freud, the developer of psychoanalysis, who had recognized that women could easily reach orgasm through clitoral stimulation. Freud dismissed this type of stimulation as juvenile and believed it was important for women to become more sexually mature by focusing only on vaginal stimulation to reach orgasms. The problem is that the vagina was not designed for orgasms. It does not have the concentrated nerve endings that one finds in the clitoris or in the head of a penis, for example. As a result of Freud's determination, women who could not reach orgasm through vaginal intercourse were considered to have some type of psychological impairment. All sorts of methods were devised in an attempt to “liberate” women from their reliance on the clitoris for sexual pleasure. Only in recent decades has society begun talking openly about the women's right to enjoy sex and to reach orgasm in whatever manner worked for her. Myth 7: Only women fake orgasms. Even though this book is about female orgasms, I think its important for both men and women to realize that orgasms are not going to happen during every sexual encounter. About one-fifth of men admitted that they have faked an orgasm with a partner. Their reasons for faking are the same as women's: they don't want their partners to be disappointed. Orgasms don't always come easily in a partnership. Sure, when we masturbate we can probably get off every time because we know our bodies and we know what works. Our sexual partners have to learn these things over time and, most importantly, with our help. Again, faking orgasms is not the answer for either sex. It just complicates the issue and prevents both partners from having a truly fulfilling sexual encounter. Myth 8: Men just care about their own pleasure, not their partner's. This myth was probably true at some point in the past but today more men are worried about their role as lovers and want to give their partners a great experience just as much, or even more, than they want to have a great experience. The reason this myth persists is the same reason I wrote this book. Men don't understand how female orgasms work or how to achieve them. They don't learn it in sex education classes, and most of their fathers wouldn't be able to tell them even if they did ask. What makes this worse is that many women feel that men should instinctively know how to get them off. That's just not the way it works. For one, each woman's body is different so what worked with one partner may not work with another. Each partner needs to communicate with the other person about what feels good and what helps them achieve orgasm. In an honest, caring relationship, these types of communications should be able to take place. What You Should Remember Remember as you move into the following topics that much of what you may have known about female orgasms is not true. Only once you move beyond these myths will you truly be able to reach that level yourself or help your partner reach that level. The most important first step you and your partner must make is to have open communication about your sexual relationship. We'll talk about this more later in the book but keep in mind that good sex does not begin in the bedroom. It begins with talking, getting to know one another, developing trust, and feeling comfortable enough to be completely open with the other person. Truly amazing sex is not possible without these ingredients.
Antique Jewelry - Getting to grips with the basics of Antique Jewelry
For those with a real love of Antique Jewelry, by now you will have realised that it can cost substantial amounts of money. But if you spend some time learning how to buy antique jewelry wholesale, you can save yourself heaps. In the age of the Web , it is common for people to head for online auction sites, such as eBay, in the hope of finding a bargain. Amongst thousands trying to do the same thing there is going to be massive competition. Sadly again, you are likely to find that the seller has just as much if not more experience as you have and as such they will have priced their auction correctly. This does not mean that bargains cannot be found at online auctions. It's still worth keeping an eye on the more popular sites, just in case. Remember to keep an eye out in several sections as well as just the antiques section. An essential part of using online auctions is to establish the credibility of your seller before you enter in a bid. At times like these it is probably advisable to make sure you have access to the services of a credible escrow service. More importantly, communicate with the seller to make sure you understand exactly what you're buying. The Internet is not your only resource on bargain jewelry to be had if you know where to look, there are equally valuable resources available elsewhere. Remember sometimes to find the best results you need to be able to look in areas others simply cannot compete in. One great resource is your local newspaper. there is a possibility that the seller might be slightly ignorant of what it is they have to sell. This has to increase your chances of getting a bargain from local sources. If you're going to trawl local sales for bargains, though, don't make it too obvious when you're interested in a piece of jewelry. Try not to make it too obvious that you are interested to a certain item if you are going to try and search for bargains local sales. It is unwise to show interest too soon in any one category and this may cause the seller to increase their charges Too much interest too soon can alert the owner and you are likely to put them off. After all, if you're familiar with antique jewelry then your hunch is probably right. You may well find that you actually say more by taking the jewelry off site once you've bought it and confirming your suspicions in private. This means that you may end up buying some worthless junk along the way, but that's okay. The genuine pieces you find will more than make up for the few bucks you spend on false starts. Once you find your first bargain it is entirely possible that you become addicted to the entire process. In a lot of cases estate sales can produce better returns even if they are more infrequent than yard sales. It happens quite regularly that the grandchildren of some wealthy families are completely unaware as to the value of their family’s jewelry. Their motivation may be purely driven by the fact that they desperately need the money. Sadly in today’s world this may be more and more common as the heirs of formerly wealthy families come to realise that the upkeep of family homes can be more expensive than foreseen.
Model Posing Tips from a Professional Photographer
Whether you are searching for a career in fashion modeling or glamour modeling, it is very important for you to realize that there is more to becoming a model than just standing there looking beautiful. One very important factor in becoming a good model is posing, and in order for you to learn the different poses needed for the type of modeling career you are seeking it will take practice, practice, practice. Make Your Posing Look Natural When preparing for your photo shoot, there are numerous steps you can take to ensure you are comfortable while posing and your photos will look more natural. Get Posing Ideas Before you head to your photo shoot, pick at least ten poses you really like from fashion or glamour magazines, or poses you’ve learned from previous photo shoots. Take time to practice each pose in front of a mirror until you feel comfortable and have the confidence of knowing you look great doing these poses. Hands and Facial Expression Also, focus on what to do with your hands and pay attention to facial expressions. A pose is virtually dead and unimaginative without a “look”. You should be able to close your eyes, imagine a thought, open your eyes and sell that thought. Practice this technique and your photos will come alive. Become an Idea Factory Unless you are shooting for an advertising agency or some other type of special interest session many photographers recommend that you bring some of your own posing ideas to the shoot. In addition to your ideas, the photographer may have his or her own idea of how the session should go. Rapport with Your Photographer Always work with a photographer you feel you can trust. This will make communication between the two of you easier and give you the confidence to express your own ideas. Always listen to what the photographer tells you. If you are really uncomfortable with the pose, let your photographer know how you feel, in a nice way. Remember, he is looking through the camera lens and might see something you don’t. If the photographer says she wants something different in the pose, try looking away from the camera or giving a unique facial expression. This is where your practice in front of the mirror really pays. Posture When posing you should always keep good posture unless the photographer instructs you to do otherwise. Hold your stomach in to give your abdomen a more toned appearance. If you have gained a few pounds stick out your chin a little to avoid the appearance of a double chin in your photos. Keep your fingers slightly apart and pointed away from the lens. Let your hands fall naturally into position whenever possible. Remember, you want to be yourself – on purpose. Now that you have learned what to do, consider these things you should try to avoid while posing. Things to Avoid when Posing for a Photographer Misplaced Body Language Body language and expressions come naturally but the language you are projecting might not be what your photographer wants in a particular pose. You need to conciously focus on ways to prevent these habits while posing. Don’t hold your breath during a pose. Stay relaxed and your photos will look as if you just happened to be sitting this way when the photographer walked up. In most pose situations you want your arms, legs, wrists, etc. slightly bent unless you are directed to do otherwise Most people don’t stand or sit with their arms and legs completely stiff. A good point to remember is, if it will bend, bend it. Mona Lisa Smile? Another posing tip to remember is that you don’t always have to smile. You should have a good variety of smiling and serious looks. But, sometimes you will want to give a large, open-mouthed laugh. If you are susposed to be happy, look the part! Your Eyes are the Windows to Your Soul Don’t always look straight into the camera. When you cut your eyes to the left or right, you create an air of mystery. When you look up and away, you are annoyed. Tilt your chin slightly down and look straight ahead for a sexy look. About Blinking Beware of the Blink! If you have to blink, try to blink between exposures. This is not always easy, especially if you are working in a photography studio. Some models get into a habit of anticipating the strobes and start to close their eyes when the picture is about to be snapped. Get into the habit of not paying attention to the flash and concentrate wholy on the pose, your body language, hand position, etc. and your images will come out as you expect. Be Bold!! Never be afraid to try out some of your own poses in front of your photographer. Most photographers are glad to hear suggestions from you. How do You See Yourself? When you look at your final images don’t be critical of yourself. Find positive ways to improve your posing. Discover your strengths and weaknesses and shoot for the stars. I am certain that Tyra Banks still works on her appearance and her posing artistry even though she has achieved a degree of stardom. Shouldn’t you?
Personalize Balance
The second most prominent question I encounter as I meet with people around the world has to do with balance. “How do I balance all of the demands of my life; work, home, family and self?” That’s what we’re going to talk about this week. One Thing To Think About You are unique, and your life is like no other. What equates to life balance for your neighbor or co-worker probably won’t work for you. You must define balance for yourself. Balance isn’t necessarily about not being busy, although that may be part of your definition. It’s about taking care of all of you and all of what is important to you. One Question To Answer What does your ideal balanced life look like? What do you have time for? What do you get to enjoy? How much down time do you have? Take a few moments and define your balanced life (on paper) right now. One Challenge To Take Take one action this week to put just one component of your balanced life into action. * If your balanced life includes exercise, make appointments with yourself this week to begin training. * If your balanced life includes time with friends, make a date to get together with a friend you care about. * If your balanced life includes time invested in a career you love, take one step to begin manifesting your vocational dream. It doesn’t matter what you do – so long as you do something. Take your first step, and begin living in balance!
Can You Get Rid Of Skin Wrinkles With Face Lifts And Cosmetic Surgery?
By nature, we are all destined to age. It is inevitable. One day, we will all have lines and wrinkles in places that are visible and places that are not! However, modern day technology and cosmetic surgery have provided us all with a means to halt the aging process. One of the main ways that individuals avoid facial wrinkles is the surgical face lift. A face lift can make us look years younger for much longer than would otherwise be possible, but you can choose the right face lift for you because there is a variety of options. The surgical face lift became popular on the celebrity circuit in the 1970s and 1980s, but only the most affluent of individuals could afford the procedure. However, the option is open to most individuals today because surgical face lifts are more affordable than ever. When you look at the difference between face lifts then and now you will see a big improvement in the techniques and methods used. In the 1980s, facial skin was pulled so tight that people noticed the surgery. There was also much more scarring than today. You could see the former whereas you would need a microscope to see the latter. There are several types of facelifts and we'll look at just a few options. The deep plane face lift began back in the 1980s and it proved that beauty really is skin deep because this procedure could knock ten or more years off of a 40 year old woman. That's because it gets to the root of the problem, the muscles in the face, which sag as we age. This causes us to loose tone, which then causes the skin to stretch. As a result too often the skin is blamed for what is actually a muscle problem. This procedure starts by addressing the real problem and tightening the muscles, and then it moves to the surface. The results are very impressive. Next up is the mini face lift, and this is perfect for individuals in their mid thirties through their mid forties. Regardless of whether you are male or female, this type of face lift will have a revolutionary effect on you because it tightens the muscles and the deep tissue around the face and thus tightens it up nicely. Despite the work required for this procedure to be successful, there will be very little scarring of the tissue and the recovery time is therefore shorter than other face lifts. However, it only tends to work around your face so the nose and cheeks will remain the same in appearance. The 1980s was the peak of the surgical face lift's popularity, but that popularity has waned today. It is still a viable choice for women trying to fend off the aging effects of time. You should always consult a surgeon before having any procedure done because he or she will be able to advise you as to what would work best for you. As long as you take the advice that he or she offers, then you can remain youthful and beautiful on the outside as well as the inside indefinitely!
Breastfeeding Is An Ideal Method Of Feeding And Nurturing Infants
In recent years especially research consistently shows breastfeeding infants provides a multitude of compelling advantages to:
* Infants
* Mothers
* Families
* Society These advantages include:
* Health
* Nutritional
* Immunologic
* Developmental
* Psychological * Social * Economic * Environmental Human milk is uniquely superior for infant feeding. All other commercial substitute feeding options differ markedly from it. Breast milk is easily digested and contains antibodies that can protect infants from bacterial and viral infections. The health benefits to mothers include lower rates of certain breast and ovarian cancers. Regardless of the superiority of human milk against all other infant feeding options, health professionals agree that there are rare exceptions when human milk is not recommended. Breastfeeding is not advisable if one or more of the following conditions is true:
* The infant is diagnosed with galactosemia (a rare genetic metabolic disorder)
* The infant whose mother has been infected with HIV, is taking antiretroviral medications, has untreated, active tuberculosis, is infected with human T-cell lymphotropic virus type I or type II, is using or dependent upon an illicit drug, is taking prescribed cancer chemotherapy agents that interfere with DNA replication and cell division, is undergoing radiation therapies (radiation therapy requires only a temporary interruption in breastfeeding) Human milk is the preferred feeding for all infants, which includes premature and sick newborns with some rare exceptions. The final decision on breastfeeding an infant is the mother’s. It is the role of the pediatricians to provide parents with complete, current information on the benefits and methods of breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should begin as soon as possible after birth, usually within the first hour. Newborns should nurse whenever they show signs of hunger, which include:
* Increased alertness or activity
* Mouthing
* Rooting All the above signs will appear before crying. Crying is a late sign of infant hunger. Newborns should nurse about 8 to 12 times every 24 hour period until satiety.
This is usually accomplished within 10 to 15 minutes on each breast. If the infant is non-demanding in the early weeks after birth, they should be aroused or awakened to feed if 4 hours passes since last nursing.
Do not give supplements such as water, glucose water, formula and so forth to breastfeeding newborns unless advised by a health care professional due to some kind of medical indication. With adequate breastfeeding knowledge and practices, supplements are rarely needed.
Pacifiers and supplements should be avoided and if used at all, only after breastfeeding is well established. Newborns and breastfeeding mothers should be seen by a pediatrician or other knowledgeable health care professional when the newborn is 2 to 4 days of age. At that time, infant weight and a general health assessment should be done as well as observing breastfeeding for evidence of successful breastfeeding behavior. In addition the infant should be assessed for jaundice, adequate hydration and age-appropriate elimination patterns. The infant should have at least six urinations per day and three to four stools per day by 5 to 7 days of age.
Some obstacles to the initiation and continuation of breastfeeding include:
* Insufficient prenatal breastfeeding education
* Inappropriate interruption of breastfeeding
* Early hospital discharge in some populations
* Lack of timely routine follow-up care and postpartum home health visits
* Media portrayal of bottle-feeding as being “normal.”
* Commercial promotion of infant formula through hospital distributions of discharge packs, coupons for free or discounted formula, television and general magazine advertising The highest rates of breastfeeding are among higher-income, college-educated women, 30 years of age living in the Mountain and Pacific regions of the United States. The AAP strongly recommends breastfeeding as the ideal method of feeding and nurturing infants and recognizes breastfeeding as most important in achieving optimal infant and child health, growth and development.
